I am so sad to hear that June is gone; the photo you chose is fantastic, it brought tears to my eyes and I could hear her sweet chuckle. She was my dear friend for the five years I lived in Decatur. From the day we met, starting the Decatur Quilters Guild, to the day I left Illinois, we did everything together. I have never had a dearer friend. I have missed her every day since I moved away. We went on many trips together, and probably didn't miss a quilt show in a hundred mile radius around Decatur. I had hoped to make a trip to Decatur to see her again, I am sad that didn't happen. I loved her dearly. She was an important person in my life.Madeline Hawley

June was on the Decatur Public Library's Home Service Program. That is how I met her.She was a pleasure to serve. A very well -read and intelligent lady…she had all sorts of interests and loved keeping up with current events. We had a few great conversations about the world. She had been on our program since January of 2016, during which time she read over 1,000 books and magazines. She dearly loved certain magazines, such as Grit, Real Simple, The Economist, Cook's Illustrated, Vanity Fair, and many many more. She was always so excited to get them. Her interests were vast. I know she was an excellent quilter and she showed me many of her pieces that she kept in her home.I will sure miss her pleasant attitude and voice.
