We extend our heart felt condolences to David's family. He had such a positive impact on an astounding number of lives. His time with us, though far to short to our way of thinking, was very well lived. He helped a great many people. May his memory be eternal. John Savara and family.

David was a person people should aspire to be. I wanted to be like him. His heart, his hopes for his students, his "get going on to be what you can be" were a lighthouse beacon which I have endeavored to perpetuate in my life.Within two weeks, I have lost two beacons–a mother, and a dear friend who was a lodestone for "the right thing to do." I will miss you very much, my friend. Godspeed.Mary Bolton
Louise, I am so sorry for your loss. I've always been grateful to your David for hisguidance to my daughter Holly. She wouldn't have gone to college without his help and encouragement. And working for you at DAAC and sharing your engagement and wedding has been a lovely memory.I also lost my darling husband, Dave this year. I know your pain and sadness and will keep you in my thoughts.Marta Edgcomb Grothe
Louise Wallace-Kidd, We mutually surprised each other on a Sunday morning 4 years ago in middle of summer 2013, when in route home to Michigan you and David had stopped to attend Mass at his childhood church, St. Paul's Episcopal in LaSalle, Illinois. In Peanuts comic strip Schroeder is the musical prodigy. You, however, found the "Round-Headed Kid" you had worked so diligently with to put on "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" in March 1979 at Neil A. Armstrong, Jr. High School in Jacksonville, Illinois, was the church organist that day! Amazing how God had our paths unexpectedly cross after 34 years. Amazement in the past, gave way to sadness when I opened the "LaSalle-News Tribune" newspaper Monday night and learned God had called David to his "home" in heaven. Way back in winter of 1979, the audition music everyone had to take a turn singing as a solo was "Happiness." So, it is my prayer at this sad time you may find some comfort in the lyrics that announce, "Happiness is walking hand in hand . . . Happiness is coming home again . . ." and, "For happiness is anyone and anything at all that's loved by you." Hope very much good memories provide you happiness for "I don't think it's good for a team's morale to see their manager cry." God bless."Your Friend,Charlie Brown"(a/k/a Larry Sittler)
I was a student at Jefferson when Mr. Kidd was there in 1971. He was always so kind to me and Iâ??ve never forgotten that in all these years. I pray for Godâ??s peace and comfort for his family.
Dear Louise, Alex and Ashley, Laura and Travis,The first neighbor to greet us when we moved in the neighborhood was David. We immediately knew that this was a very special man, warm, friendly and intelligent with a great sense of humor. Often we would see David take Maddie out for a yard walk, or warming up the oil in his Porsche, and we would take the time to have our fun neighborly conversations. Davidâ??s humor was great when John (other neighbor friend) and I would be working in the front yard and all three of us giving each other a â??hardâ?? but fun time. David was a huge part of our little neighborhood area; it will never be the same without him and he will be greatly missed by all of us.We are very sorry for your loss and our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.Hugs of strength,Michel and Lisa ter Kuile
So sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.Mark and Julie Doyle
Louise and Family, I am so sorry for your tragic and sudden loss. I pray that the arms of comfort enfold you from above and through family and friends. David's contribution to the education and welfare of children live on through those children. I am a close friend of a relative and of a friend and have heard from them all that David, you and your children meant to them. Marilyn Parker
