Dr. Chad Burmeister and Staff would like to extend our condolences to Bev and Family. We have fond memories of getting to know Fred over the years. You are in our prayers.
To the Pierce family–My heart goes out to you all with the passing of Fred–He was coaching/umpiring with Dave Roberts when I met him, and he not only taught me the right way to play ball, but the fair way. He had a big impact on me as a child, and I'd like to believe he helped me aquire the values that I live by today. The world was a better place because of Mr. Pierce. (I'm sorry, I can't bring myself to call him Fred)—Pete Slonaker

Thanks Roger. He was a beauty. We miss him terribly. Looking forward to seeing you next summer. Take care and God Bless. -Brian
We will all miss Uncle Fred, the stories that he used to tell us, watching him run down first/third base line umpiring a ball game, making that famous taffy over the holidays, walking in the front door and by the hall and looking down that hall and seeing him sitting there at the end waving at you with a smile and finally try to teach you chess so he had someone to play with no matter how old you were. I just hate that our daughter Jordan did not have a chance to meet her wonderful and hilarious Uncle Fred. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Aunt Bev and all of our cousins. We love you all,Mark, Robin and Jordan Hollingsead
Sent a gift in memory of Fred Alexander Pierce
To the Pierce Family:I am saddened by the loss of Fred. I have such great memories of him, especially as an umpire, watching him walk up with his big balloon chest protector and the familiar to this day call of "sterrr-ike". I want to share a funny line that he said once in a game, that I still use to this day when I get in a similar situation. He was umping and there was a disputed call and both managers were chatting with him about the play. Fred said,"there is nobody who knows the rules of baseball more than me, but right now I couldn't find my name in a phone book." Both managers laughed and the dispute was settled with grins on our faces. You all will be in my thought; we have truly lost a beauty.Roger Lowe
