Brother Childers was a very good friend of ours; we have many fond memories of him. We especially enjoyed our trips to Arthur with he and sister Childers, we would stop at several shops to browse, and look for "deals" at a thrift shop along the way. His face would light up when he found some little treasure to take back home. And of course, we would stop to eat at Yoder's restaurant.
If you wanted to get Brother Childer's attention, all you had to do was mention "The Bus Grease Monkey" and he was ready to talk; he loved the old busses he used to drive.
We will never forget our dear friend.. the man with the "perpetual smile." We will miss him.
