Decatur – Charles R. “Chuck” “Charlie” Loehr, 81, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017, in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Charles was born February 22, 1936, in Dahlgren, IL, the son of Charles E. and Mildred A. (Abramovich) Loehr. He was a member of Ss. James and Patrick Parish and retired in 1995 from Firestone where he worked as a tire builder/supervisor. He married Margaret A. Ward November 23, 1957 in Chicago.
Surviving is his wife, Margaret of Decatur; sons: Steven (Marina) Loehr, Ken Loehr and Michael (Janet) Loehr all of Decatur; grandchildren: Micky Loehr and Amanda Shouse; great grandchildren: Zachary, Karmen and Kooper; sister, Betty Devoy of FL; brother, Danny (Nancy) Loehr of CO; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Charles C. Loehr.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate his life will be 11 am, Friday, January 5, 2018, at St. James Catholic Church; visitation will be one hour before the mass in the church. Burial will take place in Macon County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ss. James and Patrick Parish.

  1. Sorry for your loss, I worked at Firestone with Charlie. He was a great guy and I have many pleasant memories working together.

  2. Our sympathy to Steve and Marina and all, we sat near chuck and marge at Mass every Sunday for years at St. Patrick's and enjoyed visiting with them. Love and prayers, Nancy and Larry

    I had the opportunity to work with Chuck when we were building houses for Habitat.
    He was a great guy and I was fortunate to know him.
