Decatur – Donald L. “Don” Theobald, 85, of Decatur, passed away at Friday, September 22, 2017.
Don was born on May 31, 1932, in Detroit, MI, the son of Charles and Vivian (Mayberry) Theobald. A U.S. Army veteran, Don worked as a superintendent for P.R. Duke & Associates. He was a member of the VFW, Moose and Elks. Don married Imogene M. (Whitten) Stone June 7, 1969, and she preceded him in death May 21, 2009. Also preceding him in death were his parents, son Larry, and brothers: Dick and David.
Surviving are his children: Sandra (Lee Wilder) Theobald, Donna Wills, Rita Vought all of Decatur, D. L. (Dana) Theobald of AR, Teresa (Mark) Lewis of Decatur, and Susie (Mike Bozell) Stone of Champaign; seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; sisters: Sally (Roy) Hubner and Carol (Terry) Jones of Decatur; special friend, Dot Cheney of Decatur; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services to celebrate his life will be 11 am, Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home; visitation will be one hour before the service in the funeral home. Burial with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard will be in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Macon County Animal Shelter or Humane Society of Decatur & Macon County.

  1. Don was onery and adorable at the same time! Always had us moose gals laughing. And wow what a dancer! He will sadly be missed. Prayers to the family !
