Eleanor J. Hunt, 91, of Decatur passed away on Monday, September, 25, 2017 in Decatur Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Eleanor was born on March 30, 1926 in Decatur, IL the daughter of Herbert and Audrey (Cunningham) Head. She was a member of Ss. James & Patrick Perish, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed playing Bridge. She married John B. Hunt on November 6, 1947 in Decatur. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2004.
Surviving are her son, David Hunt of Decatur, IL; daughter, Sue Bertram (Jack) of Flossmoor, IL; granddaughter, Jacki Graham (Brian) McKinney, TX; great-grandchildren, Maisie and Myles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Alice Mechling.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday October 7, 2017 in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. John Burnette as Celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Macon County Humane Society.

  1. I remember this lovely lady sitting and visiting with her next to homepark pool.. she never failed to send a card and letter at Christmas after we moved out here. I considered her a good friend.. Cork and I will miss you..God bless , Corky and Charlene Thomas
