Mickey Kay Fleener, 68, of Lake City, IL passed away early Tuesday morning, April 25, 2017, at St. John’s Medical Center, in Springfield.
Mickey was born April 23, 1949, in Arthur, IL to William Thomas and Mabel (Stolley) Dean. She married Michael Fleener on June 10, 1967, in Arthur, IL. She was the office manager for Moultrie County Counseling Center for many years. Mickey loved to read, shop, flowers and little babies.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Mike; son-in-law, Al Pote of Lake City, IL; sister, Charlene Gilmore of Sullivan; sister-in-law, Phyllis Shambaugh of Lovington; brothers-in-law, Steve (Donna) Fleener of Hammond, IL and Kenny Gilmore of Lake City, IL; nieces and nephews, Alyssa (Troy) Hyde and Matt (Emily) Gilmore, Sarah (Buddy) Copeland, Kendra (Aaron Abner) Shambaugh, Jenny (Trent) Brandenburg and Scott (Amy) Fleener; and five great-nieces and two great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Crystal “Cricket” Pote; and brother-in-law, Gary Shambaugh.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mickey Kay Fleener will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Bricker, officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to LaPlace Methodist Church or Moultrie County Counseling Center.
