Mildred Trogolo

Mildred Trogolo, 99, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Heartland Healthcare Center. 

Mildred was born August 5, 1918, in Thayer, IL to Ben and Minnie (Pommatto) Williamson. She married James L. Trogolo on July 27, 1940, in Palmyra, MO. He passed away July 5, 2007. Mildred was a policy checker for Federal Kemper Insurance Company for 20 years. She loved sewing, baking, writing poetry, but most of all, spending time with her family. 

She is survived by her three children, James (Candy) Trogolo of Battlefield, MO, Marian Fiedler of Plainfield, IL and Linda Trogolo of Decatur, IL; three grandchildren, Byron (Jennifer) Fiedler, Sheila (Chris) White and Steven (Melody) Fiedler; and four great-grandchildren, Parker, Jake, Spencer and Jessica. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers and one sister. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Yoon and staff at the Cancer Care Center, Comfort Keepers, Safe Haven Hospice and those who cared for mother at Heartland Healthcare Center. Also thank you to Carol, Roberta and Steve for being with Linda on Friday. 

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mildred Trogolo will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

  1. So sorry to hear that Millie passed away this weekend, but I am glad that she doesn’t have to be in the nursing home any longer.
    My dad, Ron Nihiser was at the hospital as fluids are building up in his body. His lungs are filling causing him to have difficulty breathing. He came back to Heartland on Saturday afternoon.

    I am so sorry for the loss of your Mother. My prayers are with you.
