Verna E. Moeller, 89, of Decatur, IL died Monday, January 29, 2018 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, February 2, 2018 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Brown Cemetery in Mt. Auburn, IL

Memorials: St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Verna was born November 12, 1928 in St. Peter, IL the daughter of Herman and Bertha (Remmert) Graumenz. She married Wilmer H. Moeller on November 25, 1945 in St. Peter, IL. Of that union they had five children together.

She was employed as a line assembly worker at GE, Caterpillar and Borg Warner. She later worked for the school district assisting children with disabilities as they would board the schoolbus. She was a member of the American Legion Ladie’s Auxiliary. Verna was also an avid Cubs fan and loved playing cards with her family.

Surviving are her children, Karen Barnes (John) of Decatur, IL, Kathleen Goddard (Mark) of Sydney, Australia, Marsha Senger (Steve) of Decatur, IL, Mark K. Moeller (Pam) of Exeter, NH; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Marie Moeller at her birth; one brother, Elroy Graumenz; one sister, Lorene Fulfer and her companion of 34 years, James D. Davis.
