Bobetta Jean Merrow (Travis), 78, of Decatur, IL passed away June 22, 2022 in Pana, IL. Bobetta was born March 6, 1944, in Decatur, IL, daughter of Robert and Nellie Travis (Long). She enjoyed playing bingo, people watching, reading, spending time with family, watching All My Children and Dancing With the Stars, and eating dessert. She was previously married to Robert E Merrow for 27 years before parting ways in 1993. Bobetta graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1962, and worked for IBEW Local 146, Traver Supply, Macon County Auditor’s Office and Macon County Clerk’s Office, and JC Penney during her career in Decatur. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-n-law, James Wisley, and son-in-law, Freddie Kunz. She is survived by her sister: Cheryl Wisley; Children: Kimberly (Loren) Stachak, Cheryl Kunz, Robert (Angela) Merrow. Grandchildren: Jessica (Zach) Stachak-Miller, Trey (Samantha) Rock, Angeline (Matthew) Adam, Kayli (Allen) Massey, Mikey (Stephanie) Taylor, William Merrow, and Gage Dillman; and Great-grandchildren: Nora and Charlotte Adam, Elijah Massey, and James, Brighton, and Logan Taylor. With her contagious smile, sassy attitude, and quick wit, Bobetta brought joy to everyone around her. She will truly be missed by all of us. Visitation and Funeral services will be held at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home on Saturday, June 25, 2022. Family time is Noon to 12:30, Visitation is 12:30 to 2pm, and Funeral Service is 2pm to 3pm. The family would like to extend a special recognition to all her loving caregivers over the past 4 years with Prairie Rose Nursing Home in Pana, IL, and to her caring nursing staff with HSHS Hospice Illinois.
