Jackie Lee Hedenberg (JACK), 78, of Decatur, passed Sunday March 13th, 2022. He was born in Decatur on March 2nd, 1944, the youngest son of Elmer and Phyllis (Querrey) Hedenberg. Jack proudly served in the Navy from 1962 to 1967. Shortly after he returned home from his service on the USS Pocono, he married Sharon R. Long. He was a home builder in the Decatur and Macon County area along with his Dad and Brother. He also retired from Kohl’s in Forsyth. He was best known for his dry humor, and love of English Bulldogs. He also enjoyed taking his 71 Camaro to car shows and bringing home trophies! Jack is survived by his Wife Sharon, Daughter Jacqueline (Daniel) Rawlings, Brother Melvin R. Hedenberg, Grandsons Kolton (Trinity) Huttes, Dylan Rawlings, Hunter Rawlings, Granddaughter Jamie (Ryan) Sweet and many extended family members. Jack was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to give a special thank you to his doctors, everyone at DMH and Hickory Point Christian Village for their dedication and compassion during the last several months. If you are able to attend the service, PLEASE wear what you want – Jack was a blue jeans casual guy – no need to dress up fancy unless that is what you like to do. A visitation will be held for Jackie at the Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 12:00-1:00p.m. A funeral Service will be held also at the Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home on Tuesday March 15, 2022 at 1:00 pm with burial to follow at Boiling Springs Cemetery.
