Josephine Cecilia Rambo

Josephine “Josie” Cecilia Rambo, 89, of Decatur, died 3:00 a.m., Sunday, April 10, 2022 at home. Funeral services will be held at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home on Thursday, April 14, 2022. Visitation will be from 10am to 11am. A funeral service will begin at 11am. Burial will be in La Place Cemetery. Josie was born July 20, 1932, in Gibson City, IL, the daughter of James Sylvester Stewart and Gertrude Anna (Kemmer) Stewart. She married Herbert “Herb” Lee Rambo on December 29, 1954, in Decatur. Josie cleaned houses and retired from Elzy’s Flowers and Gifts in Sullivan, as a floral designer. She enjoyed spending time with family playing cards, bingo, dancing, sewing, crocheting, planting flowers, cooking, puzzles, and watching the birds at the feeder. Surviving are her sons Tim Rambo of Cisco, Joe Rambo and wife Janet of Lake City, David Rambo and wife Brenda of LaPlace; daughters Mary “Cindy” Rambo of Decatur, Cathy Hodge and husband Gary of Lovington, and Tina Conder and husband Delbert of Decatur; ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter, and several step grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother, husband Herbert “Herb” Rambo, son Jim Rambo, one daughter in law Martha Rambo, and one granddaughter. The family would like to thank Elara Hospice for the care of Josie.
