Michael Brennan, loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend passed away at Memorial Hospital in Decatur, IL on January 17th, 2022 at the age of 64 with his daughters at his side. Michael was born in Somerville NJ to Jack Brennan and Helen Brennan (Castiglione) on January 12th, 1958. Michael was a lifelong, diehard Yankee fan. He grew up in Manville, New Jersey, living just a short distance to New York City. He had many loves in his life outside of family, baseball and the Yankees took top spot. He enjoyed playing softball all throughout his life and played for many teams. One of the teams, he was the catcher for Bakers Dozen Softball team in Springfield, IL. Michael was a musician, he played the drums for many years and met many friends along the way, he played for Intruder, Intrepid, Rock Quarry, and Land Sharks. He was a great drummer, his family and friends enjoyed watching him and listening to the great music he and his band mates played for all. In his most recent years, Michael spent his time with his daughters, Heather, and Jen, whom he shares with his ex-wife Sue, who he remained close friends with and shared the love and joy of 9 grandchildren. He enjoyed spending holidays, birthdays, and gatherings with his family. He enjoyed watching and talking about sports and getting together for great food. He was a loving grandfather who was very involved in the lives of all his grandchildren, Maddy, Emily, Alaina, Dylan, Daniel, Michael, Andrew, Riley, and Kaitlynn. He enjoyed his time with his two daughters and a very special son in law Mike. Mike was very special to him. They spoke every day, talking about what was happening in the world but mostly what was happening with everything sports. He loved his family and friends with all his heart. Michael had a special love, the love of his life Patty. He and Patty shared many great years together. They spent time with family, and friends, they traveled, they enjoyed music together, and spent most of their time laughing and having fun, they made memories for our families and their friends to cherish always. Michael will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He will remain forever in our hearts, GO YANKS!! Surviving are his Daughters, Heather Miller of Cerro Gordo, Jen Pundt and husband Mike of Maroa , Brother Joe Brennan and his wife Gail of Decatur , Sister Bernadette Brennan of New Jersey, Grandchildren Maddy Wolf of Chillicothe , Emily Powell, Alaina Powell, Dylan Summers , Daniel Miller of Cerro Gordo, Michael Pundt, Andrew Pundt, Riley Pundt, Kaitlynn Pundt of Maroa, Nieces, Nephews , great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Jaqueline Brennan-Sandar. Memorial Services will be held Friday January 28th. Visitation will be from 6-7pm at the funeral home with Memorial services beginning at 7. We ask, in his honor to dress causal. Sports or music attire encouraged.
