William E. Tripp, 92, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 12:00 A.M. on Friday (11-26-2021) with family by his side at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL.
William was born on January 1, 1929 in Decatur, IL., the son of Dewey E. Tripp and Retha (Edwards) Tripp. He married Sylvia Mae Stanley on December 19, 1948 in Decatur, IL.
He worked as a Superintendent at Union Iron Works in Decatur, IL. William also loved to go Camping, fishing, boating and was a Cardinal fan.
He is survived by his by sons: David E. Tripp and Kevin Lynn Tripp, both of Decatur, IL.; daughters: Linda M. Turner of Panama City Beach, FL, and Sylvia M. Giles of Nashville, IL.; 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, and his brothers and sisters.
