Star of Hope Mausoleum
The Star of Hope Mausoleum was built in 1969 and is an architectural gem in central Illinois. The A-style architecture houses a 60-foot high chapel with a steep roof covered with Buckingham slate. An "eternally lighted" stainless steel cross is mounted on the exterior of the chapel's front wall. The interior walls, made predominantly of marble, are polished to a mirror finish, adding to the grand elegance of the mausoleum. The v-shaped plate glass windows at the ends of several side corridors provide a 180-degree view of the beautifully landscaped surroundings.

Garden of Memories
Most notable is our Garden of Memories, which was established in 1946 and is home to all veterans and their family members. Garden of Memories offers a fitting tribute to those who have served our country in times of war. This area serves as the final resting place for nearly two-thirds of the 1,000 veterans in Graceland Cemetery. An 80-square-foot Field of Honor, with a flagpole in the center of the veteran's section, marks the spot.

Fairlawn Mausoleum
The Fairlawn Memorial Mausoleum was built in 1927.
Lullaby Land
In addition to many other gardens that have their own stories and cater to different religious, cultural and ethnic needs, our Lullaby Land is one of our most special sections. This heart-shaped area in the southeast part of the cemetery is set aside for infants. Guarded by tall spruce trees, a beautiful memorial with a William Blake poem etched in granite sits at the heart of the gardens and provides a serene and childlike environment that seems to be watched over by angels.
