I meet Otis when Terry lived with you and talked with your father often when he was a dispatcher. Otis was a good man and I am sorry for your loss.Kevin O'Brien
Lin I meet Otis 42 yrs ago. His son David and Lin were station in Columbus Mis.. Lots of good memories. He was a big family man.
Thank you, Connie. You are right; we have many wonderful memories of dad. I know he will always be with us.
Thank you, Bob. Dad truly did care about the officers and his co-workers. He took his responsibility as a dispatcher very seriously. Even during his many years of retirement, he was always trying to keep up with what had happened to the people he worked with. And that sense of humor and quick wit was still with him to his final days.
Thank you, Suzi. Mom is here in Decatur with us and I will be sure that she sees your comment,
Matt, thank you very much for your kind words. We appreciate all you did for dad (and mom too). The last six weeks were very difficult for dad and that is not how he would have wanted to live. I am grateful that the end came quickly and that he did not linger and suffer.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Cheryll. I know your memories will be a real comfort to you.Love,Connie
Though I only recently met Otis he made a lasting impression on me. Not matter what his trials were he was always in a fairly good mood and never lost his sense of humor. I am very sad that he has passed, but I am also relieved that his burdens are no longer heavy upon his shoulders. On behalf of myself and the staff at St. Mary's hospital you have our sincerest condolences. If we can be of service to you please do not hesitate in contacting us.Matthew C. Ford, PCT
I am sadden to learn of Otis' passing, my condolences to his family. I worked with Otis many years and recall his smiles and quick whit… and he was an excellent dispatcher, always looking out for "his officers."
