Otis N. Miller's Obituary
Decatur-Otis N. Miller, 89, of Southport, Florida formerly of Decatur, passed away, Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at his daughter and son-in-law’s home.
Otis was born January 22, 1926 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Richard Otis and Susan Jane (Nodine) Miller. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from the Decatur Police Department. Otis was a member of the American Legion Post #356 in Lynn Haven, Florida and enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He married Nadine Davis February 28, 1945 in Oceanside, California. They shared over seventy years together.
Otis leaves behind his wife Nadine, daughter Cheryll Turner (Michael), grandchildren Dawn Hill (Tony), Denise Miller-Adams (Jeff), Brett Turner (Jessica), and David Miller Jr. (Lisa), six great-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.
Otis was preceded in death by his parents and son David Miller Sr.
Private family services with military honors will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to a veteran’s organization of the donor’s choice.
