A Charles Kyger's Obituary
Decatur- A. Charles Kyger, 87 of Chattanooga, Tennessee, formerly of Decatur passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011 in Chattanooga.
A service to celebrate the life of Charles will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2011 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, visitation 1:00 p.m. till the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Alzheimer's Association.
Charles was born January 14, 1924 in Getties, Indiana the son of Charlie and Ethel (Jenkins) Kyger. He proudly served his country in the U.S Marine Corps in WWII and the Korean War and was a life long member of the American Legion. Charles retired from Sears and Roebuck Company. He married Lois Snow in 1948 and then Helen Trammell in 1984 in Decatur, Illinois. Both preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, Charlie Kyger and wife Frances of Decatur; daughters, Jeannie Boleman of Ringgold, GA and Debi Cross of St. Petersburg, FL; sister, Iris Snyder; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, son Mike Kyger, sisters, Verda LeClerk, Mildred Smith, and Lucille Knee.
