Alan Craig Girard's Obituary
Alan Craig Girard, 66, of Decatur, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Alan was born December 16, 1952, in Decatur, the son of Arthur and Nina (Brownlee) Girard.
Surviving are his wife, Jodi (Flemming) Girard; his children, Ben (Sabrina) Girard of Lampasas, Texas; Alex Girard of Decatur; Alyson (Stephen) Webb of Decatur; Nicolas Girard of Decatur; Nicole Girard of Decatur; Zacary Girard of Decatur; Genevieve Frazelle of Tennessee; Cathryn Agge of Decatur; Abigail (Chris) Fair of Oregon; and Anna (Evan) Needham of Decatur; ten grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy Fair of Decatur. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Alan graduated from Stephen Decatur High School and went on and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Science at Millikin University. He was a musician and loved to play jazz music on his saxophone. He also enjoyed boating, problem solving, and most of all spending time with his family. He touched and influenced many lives, he will be missed by all of us.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Alan Girard will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
