Albert Hagymasy's Obituary
Albert Hagymasy, 87, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Albert was born August 13, 1930, in Nagyhalasz, Hungary, to Miklos and Jolan (Bacskai) Hagymasi. He married Glynda Koonce on December 12, 1959, at First Presbyterian Church in Decatur. He worked at Caterpillar for 30 years.
Albert was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Decatur, UAW #751 and DANK. He loved working in his garden, making his own wine “Decatur Rosé”, auto repair and building and carpentry.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Glynda; his daughter, Jolan (Andrew) Cirks of Decatur; his brother, Miklos (Eli) Hagymasi of Hungary and his sister, Jolan Lada of Hungary.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother in infancy.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Albert Hagymasy will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
