Albert Sheppard's Obituary
Albert E. Sheppard, 61, of Assumption passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Albert was born on October 19, 1951 in Decatur, IL the son of John and Barbara (Woods) Sheppard. He attended Lakeview High School and served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. He was very proud of the fact that he made the POW-MIA Walk from Illinois to Washington D.C.
Surviving are his sisters, Charlotte Mahome of Macon; Sherri Smith (Steve) of Decatur; Brenda Rabideau of Springfield; brother, Edward Cook Jr. (Rachael) of Maroa; nieces, Carey Blunt and children: Lacey, Kendyl, and Tegan; Elizabeth Stukins (David) and children: David, Dawson, and Camden; and Amanda Houser (Heath) and child Liam.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private family services will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery with Military honors conducted by the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
