Decatur-Alberta S. Hill, 90, of Decatur, passed away Friday, September 24, 2010 at Lincoln Manor with her family by her side.
Services to celebrate Alberta's life will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Funeral Home. Interment with 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Macon County Humane Society, Pilgrim Lutheran Church, or Grace United Methodist Church Thrift Shop or T.V. Ministry. Alberta was born February 4, 1920, in Decatur, the daughter of Louis and Pearl (Hudson) Shutter. She was a graduate of Macon High School and Brown's Business College. She was the first female president of the Future Farmers of America in 1935. She was the first Queen Soya in 1936 for Decatur and the surrounding areas. She was previously employed at A.E. Staley and Dale Hill Enterprises. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She married E. Dale Hill December 8, 1940 in St. Charles, Missouri. He preceded her in death January 26, 1978.
She leaves behind her daughter; Cindy Geltz and husband Lee of Califon, New Jersey, grandchildren; Lisa Perri and husband Pat, Gretchen Larsen and husband Jon, and Kristin Smerillo and husband Ryan, and great-grandchildren; Daniel, Anna, and Luke Perri, Andrew and Johanna Larsen, and Cora Smerillo.
She was greeted in Heaven by her parents, husband, two brothers, and two sisters.
