Alberta L. Sapp, 79, of Elgin, formerly of Decatur, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in Elgin. Ms. Sapp was born Aug. 8, 1932, in Cincinnati, OH, daughter of Elvin and Alberta (Hudson) Goff. She worked as a machine operator for Spot-Nails and was a homemaker. Alberta married James E. Sapp, Jr. May 13, 1950 in Decatur and he preceded her on death in Oct. 17, 1977. Also preceding her were her parents; brother, Harold Hudson; sisters: Marcia Strocher, Idella James and Dorothy Fortado,

and son Donald Richard Sapp. Surviving are her children: Kathryn L. (David) Reynolds of Mebane, N.C., Thomas L. (Marsha) Sapp of Omaha, NE, Margaret Kaye (Steven) Wintersteen of Elgin, and Eva M. Sapp of Arlington Heights; eight grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 1 pm until the time of the service at 2 p.m. in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, 2801 N. Monroe St. Decatur, IL 62526. Burial will take place in Graceland Cemetery at a later date.
