Alice Mae Hobbs' Obituary
Alice Mae Hobbs, 92, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Alice was born August 2, 1921 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Fred and Minnie (Snyder) Kahler.
She was a charter member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, and she loved working with crafts in her spare time. She married Clyde Hobbs on May 4, 1942 in Decatur. They shared 71 wonderful years together.
Alice leaves behind her son, Rick (Teresa) Hobbs of Mundelein, IL; daughter, Dawn Renee of Decatur; daughter-in-law, Caren Hobbs of Decatur; brother, Virgil Kahler of Decatur; sister, Mary Bullock of Decatur; 15 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Donald Hobbs; and five brothers and sisters.
A graveside service to celebrate Alice’s life will be 10 am Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Macon County Memorial Park.
