Alice M. Jargon's Obituary
Decatur-Alice M. Jargon, 98, of Decatur, passed away at 8:47 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
Private family services will be held to celebrate Alice's life. Entombment with 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be at the Mary Queen of Angels Garden Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery.
Alice was born July 31, 1913 in Moccasin, Illinois the daughter of Allen and Nellie (Conner) Day. She was previously employed at Griggolet and Houdai-Hershey. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing pinochle and yahtzee, stamping, and baking cookies. She married Norman L. Jargon August 18, 1930. He preceded her in death December 29, 2000. They celebrated over seventy years of marriage.
She leaves behind her children, Kathryn Walton of Indianapolis, Indiana, Norman E. Jargon and wife Rose of Decatur, Mary Foley of Decatur, and Joyce Childress and husband Richard of Long Creek Township, eighteen grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren, and thirty-six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Lawrence and Ronald Jargon, two sons-in-law, seven brothers, and three sisters.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff of 5100 at DMH, 3rd floor at Aspen Ridge, and DMH Hospice for all of their compassionate care.
