Amy Pronk, 93, of Decatur, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. She was laid to rest with a lovely graveside service at Boiling Springs Cemetery on February 22, 2025, officiated and eulogized by Pastor Jean Wo Read Obituary
My sincere condolence to the Pronk family. Frits and Amy were outstanding hosts to me and my family while I studied at Millikin University in the mid to late 60’s. The courtesies and welcoming expressions of the family have long lived in my memory.
I pray the comfort of the Lord on Frits and their children.
May her soul rest in peace and may perpetually light shine on her. 🙏🏽
Beste oom Frits,
Gecondoleerd met het overlijden van tante Amy. Met heel veel plezier en genoegen denk ik terug aan jullie bezoeken aan mijn ouders in de loop van de afgelopen jaren. Zij genoten daar ook altijd van.
En natuurlijk denk ik met heel veel genoegen, terug aan mijn bezoeken aan jullie in Decatur; eerst alleen en later met Monique, mijn vrouw.
Toevallig moest ik nog aan Amy denken afgelopen week. Ik was bij het postkantoor hier op Curaçao en zag een mooi velletje postzegels met de lokale vogels erop. Zij zou die zeer hebben gewaardeerd, was mijn gedachte.
Ik wens u, Margaret, Annette, Carla, Richard en de overige familie veel sterkte en hoop dat de herinneringen aan Amy, jullie troost bieden.

We are thankful for First Presbyterian Church of which Amy and her husband helped an immigrant family adjust to culture and laws in the U.S. We remember our days in Decatur with Amy and her family fondly. Rest in peace. Ta Le and Family, Houston, Tex.
Heaven is rejoicing upon Amy's safe arrival. Her sweet manner and gracious hospitality will always be remembered. Little did I know that becoming friends at First Presbyterian Church as a teenager and hearing her stories of the Netherlands, that I too would one day live in the Netherlands 1965-1968, further cementing our friendship.
