Anita Lavonne Bethard's Obituary
Decatur-Anita Lavonne Bethard, 85, of Decatur, passed away at 1:47 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Fairhaven’s Christian Home.
Services to celebrate Lavonne’s life will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 in the chapel of Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor James Baldwin officiating. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Entombment with “Flight Home” Ceremony will be at the Star of Hope Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to West Decatur Church of God. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. Lavonne was born November 15, 1924 in Vandalia, the daughter of Leon L. and Roxie E. (Hagy) Bethard. She worked in bookkeeping at Illinois Power retiring after forty-six years of service. Lavonne enjoyed attending the Mueller retiree luncheons where her father had worked for many years. She was a member of West Decatur Church of God and a volunteer at the Decatur Memorial Hospital Gift Shop.
She leaves behind cousins; Dwight Hagy and Norman Hagy both of Vandalia, Leroy “Buddy” Hagy of Decatur, and David Hagy of Carolina, and many other family members and special friends.
She was reunited in heaven with her parents.
