Anna Eichel's Obituary
Decatur-Anna Eichel, 90, of Decatur, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with her Lord and Savior 12:05 pm Monday, July 12, 2010 surrounded by her children.
Services to celebrate Anna's life will be held 11:00 am Monday, July19, 2010 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Smith officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services from 10 ' 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment with the 'Flight Home' ceremony will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Lake Helen Bible Camp in Wausaukee, Wisconsin. Online memories and condolences may be shared with Anna's family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Anna was born on January 12, 1920 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany the daughter of William and Karoline (Schwartz) Besalski. She married Ernest Eichel on March 1, 1941 in St. Charles, MO. Anna was employed as a seamstress for Fields Apparel where she retired in 1982. She loved to cook, attend church, read her Bible, and spend time with her family. Anna and her husband were members of Moundford Free Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for several years. Anna had the gift of hospitality, always thinking of, giving to, and serving others.
Surviving Anna is her husband of 69 years, Ernest; her children Tom (wife – Carol) Eichel of Decatur, Nancy (husband Jim) Nicholls of Champaign, Linda Leah Moore of Decatur, and Sharon Carnett of Ballground, Georgia; her brother William (wife Ilah) Besalski of Columbus, OH, her sister Helen Eichel of Decatur; her nine loving grandchildren Greg, Christina, Brian, Andrew, Jim, Jeremy, Scarlett, Jordan, and Jonah, and her nine great-grandchildren.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
