Anna Mae Grove's Obituary
Decatur – Anna Mae Grove, 83, a resident of Holland Home in South Holland, IL, formerly of Decatur, passed away at 2:39 am Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, IL.
Anna Mae was born on April 5, 1926 in Forrest, IL, the daughter of Otto and Verna (Wagner) Butler.
Anna Mae was a graduate of Orland Park High School. She married William (Bill) Coss Grove on August 15, 1948 in Orland Park, IL. Anna Mae was employed for some time as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone but later chose to spend most of her working life as a homemaker. Bill preceded Anna Mae in death on August 5, 2001.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Decatur and Crete Reformed Church in Crete, IL. She was a member of St. Mary's Auxiliary for over 40 years and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. During her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and traveling.
Anna Mae will be sadly missed by her sons and their families; Dennis (wife – Sue) Grove of Crete, IL and Robert ( wife ' Marilee) Grove of Morton, IL, her brothers; Virgil (wife ' Marilyn) Butler of Heyworth, IL and Richard (wife ' Linda) Farr of Normal, IL, her sister; Rita Jane Schuldt of Tinley Park, IL and her loving grandchildren Neil Grove, Kevin Grove, Andrew Grove, Amber Alencar, Tim Ohlerking and her great granddaughter Julia Alencar.
Anna Mae will be reunited in Heaven with her husband, her parents, and a brother who passed away in infancy.
Services to celebrate Anna Mae's life will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Troyer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services from 1:00 ' 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery and services will conclude with the 'Flight Home' ceremony.
