Anna K. Gash Stokes' Obituary
Decatur-Anna K. Gash Stokes, 93, of Decatur, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Anna was born July 30, 1923 in Wyoming, Illinois, the daughter of John and Bertha (Steidinger) Kyburz. She was a single parent and worked various jobs in the Decatur area to support her children. Anna attended Life Foursquare Church and enjoyed dancing, card games, bowling, and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a beloved mother and father to five children, grandmother and grandfather to seventeen special grandchildren, and great-grandmother and great-grandfather to twenty-one special great-grandchildren.
Anna is survived by her children Francene (Steve) Ford, Nancy (Bill) Leach, Jerry (Judith) Gash, Susan (Lorin) Kramer, and Larry (Darlene) Gash, seventeen grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, three brothers, and four sisters.
Services to celebrate Anna’s life will be 11:00 AM Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM prior to the services. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Fair Havens Christian Home.
