Decatur-Anna Lee Simroth, 79, of Decatur, passed away at 5:37 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012, in her home with her family by her side.
Memorial services to celebrate Anna's life will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012 at First Christian Church, 3350 N. MacArthur Rd. Per Anna Lee's wishes cremation services will be provided by Graceland/Fairlawn Crematory. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church or Meals on Wheels.
Anna Lee was born September 20, 1932 in Decatur to Russell and Bernice (Reed) Lindsey. She married Carl Simroth in Decatur in 1955. She was a long time Cardinal fan and very active with her husband in Pony Baseball. Anna Lee was a volunteer in the ER at Decatur Memorial Hospital and loved the Kentucky Derby. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anna Lee lived life to the fullest and will be missed by all who knew her.
She leaves behind her husband Carl, sons, Michael Simroth of Decatur and John (Trudi) Simroth of Decatur; daughters, Cathy Walker of Murfreesboro, TN and Susan Wilson of Decatur; sister in law Marion Lindsey of Kansas City, KS; grandchildren, Sara, Geoff (Tricia), Jeremy, Russell, Nick, Jamie, Derrick (Amy), and Dustin; great grandchildren, Lilyana, Rayle, Ra'Laynie, Isaac, Zada, David, and Haley; and cousin Robert (Carmen) Reed of Oaklahoma City, OK.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald and John W. Lindsey.
