Anthony Dwayne Richard Sr.'s Obituary
Anthony Dwayne “Tony” Richard Sr., 49, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away November 3, 2024.
Tony was born in Oak Park, Illinois, on April 20, 1975, the son of John Michael and Diana (Williams) Richard. He married Lori Richard on June 13, 2014, in Decatur. Tony worked as an operator at ADM (Archer Daniels Midland). In his spare time, there was nothing more important to him than spending time with his family. He was a shining light in their lives, a hero to all who knew him. He looked forward eagerly to time spent watching football and coaching with his sons. His kindness, generosity, and great sense of humor will be long remembered and cherished. He brought joy and happiness to all those who crossed his path.
Tony is survived by his wife Lori; mother Diana (Tim) Champion; children Cayla (Lucas) McCarty, Haylee Richard, Hanna Richard, and Anthony Richard Jr.; siblings Michelle (Amie Ballinger) Richard, Rick (Amanda Ignozzi) Carr II, Laura Richard, and Krystal (Jake) Wherry; granddaughter Delilah Rose McCarty; nieces and nephews Carlos Maldonado, Jessica Maldonado, Katlin Ellis, Kaylee Ellis, Kathrynn Ellis, Richard Carr III, Jaylend Ignozzi, and Colton Ignozzi; special friend Josh Walker; his beloved “special aunts”; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, son Jonathan Michael Richard, and stepfather Rick “Shotgun” Carr I.
Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home is providing cremation services for Tony. A memorial visitation will be held from 4-6pm Friday, November 15, at Graceland Fairlawn. Immediately following the visitation, family and friends will gather at Adam’s Apple (411 N. 22nd St., Decatur, IL) for a Celebration of Life.
