Arlen Ray Skinner, Jr.'s Obituary
Arlen Ray Skinner, Jr., 53, of Decatur, passed away suddenly Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
Arlen was born March 15, 1965, in Decatur, to Arlen Raye and Linda Kay (Hurley) Skinner. He married Thersia Lynn Russell on August 27, 1994, in Decatur, IL. Arlen loved fishing, working on cars, taking care of his railroad guys, but most of all, spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Thersia; three children, Skye (Richard) Hogan of Cullom, IL, Jessica (Dillion Wanless) Skinner of Oreana, IL and Austin Skinner of Decatur, IL; five grandchildren, Aiden Hogan, Lilly Hogan, Addison Hogan, Justin Wanless and Lukus Wanless; his father, Arlen Skinner of Crete, NE; his sister, Angela (Nelson) Langford of LaPlace, IL; and two brothers, Charles Skinner of Decatur, IL and John (Pebbles) Skinner of Beth Page, TN.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda and his step-father, Larry Beltz.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Russell, Thompson and Langford families.
Honoring Arlen Skinner wishes, cremation services will be provided by the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 2091 N. Oakland Ave. Decatur, IL. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Scott State Bank in memory of Arlen Skinner.
