Arthur Bernard Grant's Obituary
Springfield-Arthur Bernard Grant, 75, of Springfield formerly of Decatur, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Arthur was born October 28, 1940, in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Arthur J. and Bernadette (Berube) Grant. He was previously employed and a lifetime member of the International Union Painters Local 288 retiring after forty years of service. He enjoyed boats and ships, collecting stamps and coins, and socializing with his friends.
Arthur leaves behind his son Duane Grant of Springfield, daughter Tina (Ken) Gentry of Springfield, sisters Patricia Freeman of Decatur, Rita (Dean) Davis of Decatur, and Mary Huber of East Alton, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, and daughters Brenda Snow and Crystal Grant.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Arthur’s life will be 1:00 PM Friday, September 9, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 407 E. Eldorado Decatur. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with a Vigil Prayer Service at 5:30 PM. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Susan G. Komen.
