Arthur Marsh's Obituary
DECATUR- Arthur Marsh, 68, of Decatur, passed away on December 27, 2023 at RML Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, after a long struggle with insurmountable deleterious health conditions.
Arthur was born on 1-06-1955 in Bloomington, Illinois the son of Robert M. Marsh, and Madeline June {Watson} Marsh.
He is survived by his son, Robbie Marsh and wife, Amanda; their children Hayden, and Violet of El Paso, Illinois. Arthur’s surviving brother, Robert and wife, Marbella Marsh of Decatur, Illinois were his primary support system in the area.
Pursuant to Arthur graduating from Bloomington High School, he attended Quincy Technical Academy where he acquired proficiency in welding. After a stint in the U.S. Navy,
he was honorably discharged in 1973. After several years employed in construction related ventures, he relocated to Iowa, and Nebraska. During the time in said states he encountered his initial bout with cancer. Around 2004, Arthur relocated back to Decatur, Illinois. The two decades in Decatur was a period of expanding, and exacerbating health issues. Arthur loved his extended family around the Bloomington area, and his survival skills gave him strength during his long-term struggles with highly compounded health issues.
A military burial service will be held at Camp Butler, Springfield, Illinois on January 15, 2024 at 9 AM, with Pastor Kirk Henneberry officiating. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home Is assisting the family with the arrangements. Condolence may be shared at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Knights Of Columbus, 1706 RT Dunn Drive, Bloomington, IL 62701 on January 20, 2024 starting at 2 PM.
