Arthur David “Dave” Stain, 88, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away November 23, 2025. Dave was born in Sullivan, Illinois, on October 6, 1937, the son of Arthur and Helen (Blythe) Stain. He married Jan Crow on February 14, 1964. Sh Read Obituary
Uncle Dave was truly one of the best men I've ever know. He always had a smile and a kind word. It's so hard to lose someone like him. My prayers go out to Amy and her family. I hope they find comfort in the many wonderful memories they have.
While it has been many years since I sat in Dave’s Sunday school class, his impact on my life has never faded.
He taught me during one of the most difficult periods of my childhood, when my parents were divorcing. While others were unkind and judgmental, he showed me what it truly means to be Christian. His kindness was steady, genuine, and unconditional.
That example of grace shaped how I move through the world today. I hope you find comfort knowing his kindness created ripples that have lasted decades.

Dave was the best brother a person could ask for. He also was so good to help our mother who had to raise us by herself, as our father had to be hospitalized for a long period of time. He loved all five of us siblings and sacrificed much to keep us eating and surviving. He helped me grow in Christ. He's the best!
Uncle Dave was the nicest, friendliest, most positive man I've ever known. I am so blessed to have known him for over 60 years. Such a strong faith and I belive he is finally able to see his son Timmy,for whom he had devoted his life to the Lord in order to see him again in Heaven. May you enjoy your everlasting life.
