I was quite shocked when Gary informed me of Elizabeth’s sudden passing. Our deepest condolences to Alan, Cathy, Gary, Mark and Cheryl, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time. I will always remember Elizabeth as an amazing teacher and mother whom I respect and appreciate for her dedication to her students and most importantly to her children and Allan. And yes, there were an occasion or two where she gave me motherly advice.
I am thankful to have had the opportunity to visit Elizabeth and Allan when in town and talk with Elizabeth over the phone in recent years. One such visit was in 2014 when I stopped by unannounced with my family. We were warmly welcomed in, offered food and drinks and had a very pleasant visit catching up. What stood out to me from this visit, was the impression it made on our teenage boys. They thought is was so cool that we could visit teachers from my elementary and middle schools, and were most impressed by how welcoming, warm and friendly Elizabeth and Allan were.
A wonderful person, gone too soon.
