Barbara Jordan Budde's Obituary
Decatur-Barbara Jordan Budde, 93, of Decatur, passed away at 12:36 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Heartland Health Care of Normal.
Services to celebrate Barbara's life will be 10 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2011 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 130 W. Eldorado in Decatur. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday January 5, 2011 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Way, St. John's Episcopal Church, DMH Thrift Shop, or the donor's choice. Barbara was born May 23, 1917 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the daughter of John M. and Ethel Gilbert (Sayle) Jordan. She attended Eureka College and received her Bachelors in Science from Northwestern University. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a life member of LaSalle County Historical Society and DMH Auxiliary, a member of the LaSalle County Genealogical Society, PEO, Chapter BC, and the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She was also a longtime member of St. John's Episcopal Church where she taught Sunday school and belonged to the Altar Guild. She volunteered her time to the Good Samaritan Inn and DMH. She loved her family and enjoyed nature, walking, reading, and traveling. She married Harold L. Budde April 14, 1941 in Canton, Missouri. He preceded her in death November 21, 1965.
She leaves behind her sons; Richard (Penny Harris) of Novato, California, James (Judith) of Roselle, Illinois, and William (Cheryl) of Bloomington, Illinois, brother; Robert Sayle Jordan of Ottawa, Illinois, grandchildren; Rebecca Lack (Sean Brown), Jon Budde, and Kara Budde, and great-grandchildren; Raynan and Anthony Lack.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, and brother; John, Jr.
