So many people will miss you, Barb. You were very much a caring part of the Decatur community. I have cherished some of the talks we had about ….cats, clothes, sports, food, my retirement, and the Decatur Public Library just to name a few. Anyone who knows you–knows that the assorted kitties you fed and tended to over the years thank you also. Little Gray, T.C. Barb was an avid reader and was a bookmobile regular where she became friends with George. When we planned to get married, she told George she had a house picked out for us…right behind her. I met her and we became friends. She loved her cats and enjoyed her flowers. We had many conversations over school, reading, and life in general. Pictured is Barb from a few years ago with George having Thanksgiving with us. She would come and laughingly say, "I only came for the cornbread!" She loved my cornbread and said I didn't have to serve anything else so you can see there is a large plate of it in front of her! We will miss Barb for her humor, kindness, and intellect. A few years ago a friend of ours passed on and he had a lovely cat. Somehow, someone told Barb about a cat that needed a home and she wound up adopting this kitty, bringing life into a circle…taking care of someone's else baby. She adored her niece, Libby, who has been there for Barb through thick and thin. May God give Barb's family peace and comfort.George and Debbie Roberts

This makes me sad. I have known Barb for many years as we volunteered together at the Humane Society of Decatur. Barb loved her cats that shared a home with her a few years ago. Barb was always a friend to me. And, she always supported me and the Humane Society of Decatur for many years. Will miss you, Barb. Sorry we didn't get to have that tour. Rest in peace, my friend.
