Barbara Ann Harm's Obituary
Decatur-Barbara 'B.B.' Harm, 79 of Decatur, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010 in her home surrounded by her family.
Memorial services will be 10:30 am Saturday, April 10, 2010 at St. John's Episcopal Church, with Rev. Charles Reischman officiating. Interment will be held private for family only at Graceland Cemetery following services. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting with these arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pi Beta Phi Foundation, 1154 Town & Country Commons Drive, Town & Country, MO 63017 or Millikin University, Alumni and Development Office, 1184 W. Main Street, Decatur, IL 62522.
Barbara was born on July 10, 1930 in Elkhart, IN the daughter of the late Francis L. and Margaret (Lawrence) Banner. She graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1948 and attended Millikin University, graduating in 1952 with an elementary education degree. Barbara taught second grade for several years before becoming a fulltime homemaker. She was a loyal and dedicated member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, serving as chapter president while in college. Barbara later served as treasurer and president of the local Pi Beta Phi House Corporation, remaining active and involved as an alumnae member. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, the Decatur Club and the Junior Welfare Association. Barbara was an avid reader and loved playing bridge and working crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Kenneth Harm. She is also survived by two children, Margaret 'Margy' (husband ' Richard) Moorhead of Fishers, IN and Charles 'Chuck' Harm of High Bridge, NJ; as well as four grandsons, Matthew, Kenneth, Robert, and Thomas Moorhead and a brother, the Reverend Daniel L. Banner of Quincy, IL.
