Barbara Jean Lynch's Obituary
Barbara Jean Lynch, 85, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 in her home, surrounded by her family.
Barbara was born September 7, 1931 in Mt. Auburn, IL, the daughter of Perry and Mary Ann (Adams) Crowe. Barbara was a self employed with Glen. They owned and operated G.F. Lynch Disposal for over 60 years. Barbara enjoyed traveling, cooking, and most of all, spending time with family. She married Glen Lynch on October 8, 1949 in Decatur, IL. They were married for 67 years, together for over 70 years, and they were the love of each other’s life.
Barbara leaves behind her husband, Glen Lynch of Decatur; their children, Doris Ann (James) Swingler of Dunlap, IL, Franklin Mark (Tina) Lynch of Decatur, Nicholas G. Lynch of Decatur; Breanna K. Lynch of Decatur; sisters, Vivian (Glen) Spain of Decatur, Hazel (Richard) Bushman of IN.; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, 1great-great-grandchild, and a host of extended family members and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Perry Crow Jr., and sister, Lola Laverne Challens.
Services to celebrate Barbara’s life will be 11 AM Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Diabetes Association.
