Benard Conroy's Obituary
Bernard C. “Bill” Conroy Jr., 82, of Centralia formerly of Decatur passed away on Sunday August 21, 2016 in Fireside House of Centralia.
Bill was born on January 10, 1934 in Harristown, IL the son of Bernard C. and Rose (Penny) Conroy Sr. He was a member of the Moose, the Elks and an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and was a retired Teamster. He loved to play golf when he could. He Married Shirley Holmes on March 23, 1974. She preceded him in death on May 22, 1997.
Surviving are his children Rick L. Conroy (Donna Phillips) of Centralia; Kay Marie Conroy of Plantersville, TX; Kim Alexander of St. Louis, MO; Sue Dolan (John) of Apache Junction, AZ; Darrell Williams (Terri) of Terre Haute, IN; brother, Frank Conroy of Texas; sister, Dorothy Reith of Texas; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Karen Conroy, and one grandson, Ryan Conroy.
Funeral service to celebrate Bill’s life will be 2 PM Friday, August 26, 2016 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society.
