Fiala, Beth Ann's Obituary
Beth Ann Fiala, 63, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 28, at her home in Decatur, Illinois, surrounded by family, friends, and so much love.
Born on February 14, 1961, in Decatur, Illinois, Beth was the youngest of three siblings and the daughter of the late Richard and Joyce Matteson. She had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. In her early years, she attended The Lutheran School Association and MacArthur High School, where she enjoyed swimming and cheerleading.
Beth married the love of her life, Dale Fiala, and was just shy of celebrating their 42nd wedding anniversary on November 19. Together, they were blessed with five beautiful children, and she dedicated herself to being a full-time homemaker.
Later in life, Beth returned to school and graduated from Richland Community College with a degree in Nursing. She had a natural ability to care for others and positively impacted countless lives throughout her career, including caring for her late mother-in-law, Doris Fiala, in her final years.
Known for her warm and compassionate heart, Beth never met a stranger and welcomed everyone she encountered. She was selfless, passionate, and charismatic, with a love for sports that shone through her enthusiastic support on the sidelines. Above all, she cherished life’s simple pleasures and valued time spent with family.
