Betsy L Tille's Obituary
Betsy Lou Tille, 88, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in Imboden Creek Living Center.
Betsy was born May 31, 1927, in Richmond, Virginia, daughter of Reginald Rochester Rucker and Thelma Vanetta Cavanaugh.
She married Junior Keith “Pat” Mattes on Oct. 10, 1944, and Charles Herman Tille on May 26, 1971, both in Decatur. Betsy worked at St. Mary’s Hospital as a nurse and was a volunteer for the Red Cross, a Girl Scout leader and a member of the American Legion.
Betsy is survived by her children, Louann Mattes Brown (Peter) of Gillespie; Susan Mattes Kush (James) of Mt. Zion; John Patrick Mattes (Robin) of Plano, TX; James Keith Mattes (Yoni) of Fayette, NC; brother, Patrick Gail Rucker (Bernetta) of Dallas, TX; sister, Ann Rucker Norman of Monticello; ten grand-children, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one infant daughter, a sister, Peggy Rucker Vest.
Service to celebrate Betsy’s life will be 11 AM Saturday, May 7, 2016 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Red Cross.
