Betty Arbogast's Obituary
Betty Arbogast of Decatur, IL. Passed away Saturday morning December 31, 2022, with family by her side, after a long battle with dementia and a short battle with Covid and pneumonia.
A graveside service will be held at Graceland Fairlawn cemetery where she will be laid to rest, Friday January 6, 2023, at 10a.m.
Betty was born in Monticello, IL on August 4, 1949, to Clifton Mullinix and Edith Reed. She was a graduate of Atwood-Hammond High School. Betty was a woman with the extroverted gift of gab, She enjoyed watching crime dramas on television, painting country decor, sewing, and making dolls as a hobby. In the 1980s and 90s, she worked as a lunchroom supervisor at Oak Grove Elementary in Decatur where her children attended school. Later in life, Betty worked as a sales associate at Walmart for 9 years.
She is survived by her three children, Stephanie Campbell of Decatur, IL; Andrew (JoAnne) Arbogast of Quincy, IL; and Elizabeth (Shannon) Cornthwaite of Macon, IL. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Sawyer, Norah, Hannah, Alexandria, and Duke as well as long-time family friend Leonard Brewer. She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
Betty’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of The Loft at Rocksprings, where she spent her final years, for taking excellent care of her.
