Decatur – Betty R. Cothern, 81, of Decatur, passed away at 6:10 pm Friday, May 15, 2009 at her residence.
Services to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Harry Kirk officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Entombment with the “Flight Home” Ceremony will be at Fairlawn Mausoleum. Betty was born on August 5, 1927 in Ramsey, the daughter of Frank and Edna (Depew) England. Betty married Thomas Cothern on October 13, 1946 in Fayette County.
She leaves behind her husband of 63 years: Thomas, one son: Donald (Kathleen) Cothern of Argenta, two daughters: Gail (James) Foster of Decatur, and Patty Lewallen of Decatur, three brothers: Gene England of Flora, IL, Bill (Judy) England of Decatur, and Jack (Janice) England of Decatur, two sisters: Hazel Farber of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Laverne Gibson of Hillsboro, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was reunited in heaven with her parents, one sister, and four brothers.
