Betty Jean Craig's Obituary
Decatur-Betty J. Craig, 95, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Betty was born May 6, 1919, in Carterville, Illinois, the daughter of James William and Evva (Penland) Taylor. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed antiquing. She married Charles R. Craig July 8, 1949. He preceded her in death February 2, 1989.
Betty leaves behind her sons Robert Craig of Ankeny, Iowa and Barry Craig of Decatur, grandchildren Rachel (Mike) Collins, Jason Richard Russell, step-grandchildren Andrea (Rob) Nicholson, Tim Durbin, and Kathy (Chad) Bledsoe, great-grandchildren Eli, Rowan, and Silas Collins, Ella Noella Russell, Jesse and Taylor Kelsheimer, Whitney McCay, Alex Hays, and Roy, Austin, Loraine Moore, and step-great-great-grandchildren Jaydon Junior, Brookelyn and Mason McCay, and Caiden Funk.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother James William Taylor Jr., and infant son.
Services to celebrate Betty’s life will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Friday prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville, Illinois.
