Betty Jean Cullumber Wiley, 82, of Decatur, passed away at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2013 at McKinley Court Care Center
Betty was born April 22, 1931, in Hinsdale, IL to Guy and Emma (Hansman) Cullumber. She lived most of her life in Decatur. She married Ivan Wiley on February 3, 1950 and recently celebrated their 63rd anniversary
Betty is survived by her husband Ivan; son David (Kathy) Wiley of Dalton City; daughters Freida (Bob) Janes, Ruth Ann (Doug) Atwater of Decatur, Cheryl (Rusty) Sigmon of Decatur, Debbie Reynolds of Missouri, Carol (Dale) Pinkley of Gobles, MI. She leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great- grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her son Richard killed in action in Viet Nam, sister Ruth Mendenall; brother Kenneth; grandson Aaron Atwater; and a great-great-granddaughter and 5 infant siblings.
The family would like to thank the staff at Eagle Ridge, McKinley Court, Cancer Care Center, Dr. Velasco and especially Gail from DMH Hospice for their professional care, love and compassion.
Funeral services to celebrate Betty's life will be held 10am Thursday May 2, 2013 in Riverside Baptist Church 1250 W. Mound Rd in Decatur. Visitation will take place in Graceland Funeral Home 2091 N. Oakland Ave on Wednesday May 1, 2013 from 5-7 pm. Burial will follow after the service in Brown Cemetery in Blue Mound Township. Memorials may be directed to Juvenile Diabetes Association, Operation Smiles and Riverside Baptist Church.
