Betty L. Garriott's Obituary
Mt. Zion – Betty L. Garriott, 87, of Mt. Zion, IL entered into the presence of her Lord on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Betty was born October 24, 1928, in Ivesdale, IL, the daughter of Herman and Pauline (Voightritter) Pundt. She married Jack Daniel Greenwood in 1946. She later married Robert Garriott and he preceded her in death in 2013.
Betty was a member of Resurrection Life Church and previously worked at General Electric, Adolf Meyer Zone CTR, and Kemper Insurance. She enjoyed dancing and writing poetry. Betty was a hardworking and devoted mother, grandmother and aunt. Her home was everyone’s home! All were welcome. She will always be remembered for her spunky sense of humor.
Surviving are her children: Pastor Jack Steve Greenwood and wife Doris Lynn of Mt. Zion, IL; Lynn Greenwood of Harrison, AR, and Tammy Sheets and husband Mark of Bella Vista, AR. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, and one granddaughter.
Funeral services to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 29, at Resurrection Life Church, Decatur, with her son, Pastor Jack Greenwood officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur.
